AO Kefallinia won the fifth Greek Beach Soccer National Championship earlier this month.
AO Kefallinia are champions of Greece once again after defeating APS Napoli Patron 4-3 in the final earlier this month.
In the fifth edition of the Greek Beach Soccer National Championship, played out on July 15th and 16th, Kefallinia earned their second domestic title in the six-team competition that took place on Kato Achaia Beach in Patras.
After the two groups drew to a close, Kefallinia got past Saints of Agia Paraskevi in a 5-1 win while Napoli were 4-3 victors against Philippos of Athens to set up a fascinating final match-up.
Kefallinia then gained victory by the odd goal in seven to once again get their names on the trophy, with Greece international and Kefallinia midfielder Stratis Papaefstratiou named MVP.
The third-place play-off also proved a closely contested affair as Philippos beat Saints 6-5 while defending champions Atlas AO finished fifth after winning their play-off against Mani ASAAM 3-2.
Kefallinia will now be ensured a spot at next year’s Euro Winners Cup alongside the continent’s other national champions.
