Only Brazil depend on themselves to clinch a Mundialito to which three contenders could access
Mexico brought a multiple-possibility last matchday in this BSWW Mundialito after edging hosts Portugal in today’s match in Portimao. The combative Aztecan side surprised Ze Miguel’s side after turning Belchior’s opener around and building a solid 1-3 by the beginning of the second period. Just as they did not managed doing yesterday, the Tri would make the most of their advantage to end up clinching a victory that even gives them the chance to dream about packing the Mundialito cup home.
The Mexicans based their victory today on strength. Both physical and mental. One of the best instances of this being so is the way Plata immediately pulled their advantage back to two goals after Belchior’s hit for the 2-3. Portugal, who need to take aim at recovering their best shape after a hard season, tried again with a wonderful bicycle kick by Madjer, but nothing would seize Mexico their leading role today, and Villaobos headed a corner kick serve in to leave things 3-5.
Now, all contenders could end up clinching the Cup. If Brazil wins Portugal, they are the champions; in turn, Mexico would need a tight 3-point victory from Portugal combined with a loud victory over France, and Portugal would need to achieve a victory against the Brazilians, which, combined by a defeat of the Azteca to the French, would get them the Cup. If the Mexican won, notwithstanding, the Lusitanias would need a wide triumph over Brazil…

Brazil has it in their hands
Current Mundialito Champions will be the only ones to hit the sand tomorrow depending on themselves to clinch the Cup. To reedit their achievement, after their win over France, they will only need to think about beating hosts Portugal in the last and decisive match in this thrilling competition, nothing easy, by the way… Although they were fiercely battled, Soares’ side kept the three points thanks to a 3-0 run after being leveled their opening 2-0.
Despite their defeat, France proved to be winning confidence in these first weeks back to the Beach Soccer elite. Les Bleus not only leveled the first advantage by the Canarinha, but offered a fine display and, thanks to brilliant goals such as Touchat one, kept never too far to the World Champions.
