What they said

Mozambique coach Abineiro Ussaca

“We did badly in the first two periods, but my players understood that it was necessary to stay calm in order to turn the result around. It was a difficult game against an opponent who created numerous adversities for us on the pitch. The most important thing is that we got the three points. It is also true that we should have won by a good margin, bearing in mind that we have a strong opponent on the next matchday.”

Willy Kumilambe, Malawi coach

“It was a difficult game, although my players showed some resilience in the face of a respectable opponent. I have a young team with the will to assert themselves and we have learned important lessons from this. I’m not disappointed with my players. We will fight until the end, even if we leave here without a win”.
