Higicontrol are the Euro Winners Cup 2024 champions!

CD Higicontrol win 4-3 against Red Devils Ladies Chojnice.
The Final of the Women’s Euro Winners Cup 2024 kicked off for the first period and the deadlock was broken by Higicontrol as Natalia was fouled and as a result, struck a freekick from distance to beat Banaszkiewicz in the Red Devils net to make it 1-0. Less than 20 seconds after kick off and Red Devils Ladies equalised with a goal by Banaszkiewicz, as after a few kick ups she struck the ball from near her goal and it went underneath Laura Gallego to make it 1-1.

The two sides were level going into the second period, and a very early goal from Jesi regained the lead for Higicontrol. A competitive period and plenty of shots later, Carol Glez increased Higicontrol’s lead to two goals. The score going into the final period was 3-1.

The final period of the final and Sara Tui put the Spanish team 4-1 up after another long-range free kick which took Palacios by surprise, as the ball sailed underneath her body and into the back of the net. Higicontrol had just over five minutes to hold on. With one minute remaining, there was a lifeline for Red Devils as Świt scored to make it 4-2, and 30 seconds later Red Devils scored another courtesy of Sudyk to leave the score at 4-3. The game ended after a very late fightback from Red Devils however it wasn’t enough to take the game to extra-time. Higicontrol won the Women’s Euro Winners Cup 2024 in Nazaré and retained their title from last year and are the first women’s team to do so in beach soccer history.

Individual awards
During the awards ceremony in Nazaré, three individual awards were given out to the top performers from the women’s competition. The ‘Best goalkeeper’ award was given to Red Devils Ladies Chojnice goalkeeper Adriana Banaszkiewicz, the ‘MVP’ award was handed to CD Higicontrol player Andrea Mirón and the ‘Top scorer’ award was won by Enpie Malaga’s, Cris Gonzalez.

Play-offs
3rd/4th place play-off
Recreativo de Huelva defeated Pozoalbaense 4-3 to claim third position in the Euro Winners Cup 2024 – Women, as their opponents finished fourth.

5th/6th place play-off
Enpie Malaga won 3-2 against Recreativo de Huelva to finish fifth, whilst Recreativo de Huelva finished sixth.

7th/8th place play-off
AD Pastéis triumphed with a 4-1 victory against Marseille BT to finish in seventh place, as the French side finished in eighth place in the competition.
