The German side proved better aimed from the penalty kick spot and sealed the win over the Orange in Geldern
The German National Team beat their Dutch homologues in a friendly match held last weekend in Geldern (Germany). Both sides are getting ready to tackle their second and last challenge in the regular stage of the Euro Beach Soccer League (The Hague for the Orange and Moscow for the Germans), and facing a Division A team meant an excellent way to do it.
The forces were tightly balanced all match long, and equalizers just came and went. Kórner swept the hosts ahead, but Ax immediately leveled things back. Only Petry?s effort let the Germans reach the first hooter in the lead.
Things got tougher for Boringschulte?s side at the beginning of the third period, after the Orange side turned the score around with the 2-3, but Körner would rescue the last equalizer for the hosts. After the score remained untouched during the extra time, penalty kick shootout became the only way out to the game.
Despite his excellent performance, and having scored two goals in the regular time, Patrick Ax was not lucky from the 9-meter spot. He missed the first attempt for Kokmeijer?s side, something Keppinho would make the most of sending his shot in to seal the win for Germany.
