The inaugural women's edition of one of beach soccer's most prestigious events, the Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup, will touch down in Moscow, Russia this August. The venue will be none other than the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup stadium, as it takes place the week before the world championships, from the 13 - 15 August. The world's top national teams will head to Moscow to fight for the first ever continental crown in the women's game. This event marks a huge step forward for the women's game, and with an ever-increasing number of competitive national teams breaking onto the scene, including the recent debuts of Brazil and Ukraine announced. We are in for a real beach soccer spectacle. In terms of structure, four of the world's top women's national teams will meet each other in a three-day round robin; the winner of the group will be crown the first ever Women's Intercontinental champions. The participating teams will be announced closer to the event. The Intercontinental Cup has a long and fascinating history, but this event marks a huge milestone in its development.
