Varzim, Real Münster, Rosh Haayin and Napoli Patron win in the start of the second phase of the competition
- Édson Hulk showed his quality a hattrick
- Napoli Patron endured the suffering to beat GRAP
- Oba shined in Real Münster’s win.
The eight teams that qualified from the group stage kicked off the second phase of the Euro Winners Challenge 2022.
Portuguese side São Domingos went into the first pause winning 1-0 against Rosh Haayin, but Édson Hulk led the Israeli’s comeback with a hat-trick after Zé Lucas showed the way for a 5-2 triumph. In an all-Portuguese contest Varzim cruised past Sesimbra with a demolishing start that saw them score five goals in five minutes to establish a comfortable lead that they wouldn’t lose. Luca and TL Sheik scored a brace each to claim a 8-3 win.
Oba was in particularly inspired form as Real Münster faced AD Buarcos. The Japanese international broke the deadlock with a bicycle kick and sealed the deal in favour of the Germans who won 7-3. Napoli Patron and GRAP starred in the closest contest of the day. The two-goal draw was only undone by another Japanese international, Jose, with his second goal just 50 seconds before the final whistle with Stavropoulos winning it for the Greeks 4-2 win.
