The 2015 champions claim the crown back following a solid win over hosts Siófoki Bányász
Energia SC Gyöngyös bounced back from their bitter defeat in last edition’s final to claim back the Hungarian Beach Soccer throne.
The Magyar champions, with National captain Peter Abel and star signings such as Brazilian star Bruno Malias, Swiss dynamo Stephan Meier or USA goalkeeper Cristopher Toth upset Siófoko Bányász (3-5) in the final of the competition, held by the Balaton lake, in the Hungarian Beach Soccer stadium in Siófok.
Hosts Siófoki Banyasz, superpowered with UAE internationals Aljasmi, Mohammed and the Beshr twins, could not cope with Energia Gyöngyös’ pace in the final. Not even having the best player of the competition, Viktor Túros, in their ranks was enough for them as Energia Gyongyos demonstrated a wider experience.
In the semifinals stage, both Siofoko Banyasz and Energia SC Gyöngyös had shown great prowess as they bent their opponents, Jászfenyszaru GWP and FC Junior Sport, with loud scoreboards (6-9 and 4-9, respecively).
FC Junior Sport would later on clinch the bronze, thanks to the high effectiveness of their bomber, and tournament top scorer, Balász Rutai.
Siófok will not need to wait for long to enjoy top class beach soccer again, as the EBSL returns to the town this weekend.
