The country’s first Beach Soccer Super League drew to a close on Saturday.
Sabail FC are the champions of the inaugural Azerbaijan Beach Soccer Super League after beating Sumgayit FC in Baku at the weekend.
The four-team event, which also included Neftchi and Zira, saw 12 games played across July and August in the European Games Park – home of the beach soccer competition held as part of the Games in 2015.
Following five rounds of action, Saturday saw Sabail go up against Sumgait in the final match, with the former prevailing 6-5.
Many of those competing at the event will now turn their attentions to their international side, with Azerbaijan making their Division A debut at the Euro Beach Soccer League this weekend in Siofok.
