The two nations will meet for the second time in this year's tournament
The stage is set for 2023 Arab Beach Soccer Cup Final as Egypt will take on Oman in the fourth edition of the tournament. This will be familiar territory for Egypt, as they look to become back-to-back champions after their final victory in 2014. However, this will be Oman’s first time in the final of the Arab Beach Soccer Cup, looking to take the crown from the current champions.
In the quarter-finals of the tournament, the hosts and Group A winners, Saudi Arabia, came up short after losing to Palestine 5-3; whilst reigning champions, Egypt, defeated Mauritania 8-3.
The other side of the quarter-final draw saw 2023 finalists, Oman, edge past Group C winners, United Arab Emirates 5-4; and Morocco made it to the semi-final stage for the first time, as they won 5-2 against Libya.
In the semi-finals, a brace from Ali, alongside strikes from Chaabane and Hussein, sent Egypt to their second consecutive final in the competition as they secured a 4-3 win over Palestine; whilst Oman struck four times with goals from Al-Mriki, Al-Beloushi and Al-Suti to book their place in the final, as they beat Morocco 4-2.
Egypt and Oman have already met once in this year’s group stage, but who will come out on top when it matters most to establish themselves as the 2023 Arab Beach Soccer Cup winners in Jeddah?
