They become the most successful nation in the competition's history
Egypt have successfully defended their Arab Beach Soccer Cup title, as they defeated Oman 4-2 in the final at Alhamra Beach Stadium in Jeddah. A double from Hassan, and goals from Abed ELkodos and Mahsoub ensured the retention of their title. Larimi and semi-final goalscorer, Al-Mriki, both hit the target for Oman, but it wasn’t enough from Al Thanawi’s side to win their first ever Arab Beach Soccer Cup.
The Egyptians are now the most successful nation in the history of the competition, as they have become the first country to win two tournaments; winning 50 percent of Arab Beach Soccer Cup’s so far, since the competition first began in 2008.
Oman will next compete for a place in the ANOC World Beach Games in Bali, as they play the qualifier in Jeddah in a few days time.
