CONMEBOL Libertadores Fútbol Playa is ready for the semi-finals

Unión Lurín, Libertad, Presidente Hayes and San Antonio make up the final four


Four quarter-final fixtures took place at the Estadio Mundialista Los Pynandi, Paraguay, to decide which teams would advance into the semi-finals of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Fútbol Playa 2023, and take one step closer to continental success…

Unión Lurín were the first team to progress in the competition, defeating Guaicamacuto 5-3. Billyvardo Velezmoro netted a superb hat-trick in the match for the winning side, scoring with a wonderful back heel in the process, as Paulo Marques and Javier Torres also struck for the Peruvian team. 

It was who Libertad were the first Paraguayan team to progress into the semi-finals, with an extra-time win over Camba Pizzero, which finished 5-4. Milciades Medina scored the winner for his team as goals from Catarino and Jordan, alongside a brace courtesy of Carlos Benítez guided them to victory.

Presidente Hayes got the job done in their quarter-final clash with Sampaio Correa, overcoming their opponents with a 7-5 victory. A double from Néstor Medina, as well as strikes from Kosharnyi, Cáceres, Ponzetti and Kotenev made the difference for Paraguayan outfit.

The final place in the semi-finals went to San Antonio after a a 6-4 triumph against Antioquia BS. Goméz scored a double for the victors as Cáceres, Rodas, Moran and Luraschi also hit the back of the net.
