Brazil and Paraguay cement the lead at the Copa América

Second wins in two games for the hosts and the current champions


Matchday 2 of the Copa América Fútbol Playa 2022 saw Brazil and Paraguay confirm their places in the final while Chile and Peru achieved their first wins in the tournament.

 

Group A

An inspired Néstor Medina led the hosts with four goals as Paraguay beat Colombia 7-2 wherewhileas Chile reacted to the loss on the first day and defeated Ecuador in an electric match. Diego San Martín stole the show with four goals to help the Chileans win 6-5.

 

Group B

Title holders Brazil continued their triumphant campaign and saw off Venezuela with a 5-2 scoreboard. Uruguay had their debut in this edition of the tournament but they had a false start and lost 4-2 at the hands of Peru.

 

Today the Estádio Mundialista Los Pynandi sees Peru facing Venezuela before Chile play against Colombia. Ecuador and Argentina finish the day after Uruguay and Bolivia look for their first points in the competition.
