Brasileirao Feminino kicks off in Recife

8 teams take part in the second edition of the competition


The Centro Esportivo Santos Dumont, in Recife (Pernambuco) will see the second edition of the Women’s Brasileirão, taking off this weekend. After the Men’s championship, held in Barra da Tijuca (Rio de Janeiro) two weeks ago, it is now the turn for the Women’s division!

Eight teams will take part in this years edition, distributed in two groups of four teams, with Marisol (PB), Sergipe/RMO (SE), Geração 4 (PE) and Boavista/Zico10 (RJ) drawn into group A, and Ceilandia (DF), São Pedro (ES), Vila Show (PE), Uda (AL) falling in group B.

Defending champions Flamengo or 2020’s finalists Vasco da Gama (recently crowned Champions of the Campeonato Carioca de Beach Soccer) will not take part in this competition, which means that Brazil will have a new Brasileirão champions.
