Bê Martins and Adriele named as 2024 Best Players at Beach Soccer Stars

Laura Gallego retained the Women’s Best Goalkeeper Award, while Marco Octavio and Bruno Torres earned Coach and Legends Awards.


The Beach Soccer Stars 2024 Gala at Teatro Pedro Muñoz Seca in El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, saw Bê Martins of Portugal winning the men’s Best Player Award for the second time in three years, while Adriele Rocha of Brazil retained the women’s title for the third consecutive year. 

Attended by top current and former players, coaches, and officials, the Gala celebrated nine award categories, honouring the finest talents and event of the 2024 beach soccer season. All awards were determined by votes from team captains and coaches, except the Best Goal of the Year, which incorporated fan votes to select the season’s favourite goal.

To kick off the Gala, Beach Soccer Worldwide President Joan Cuscó delivered a heartfelt address. He thanked the host city for its warm hospitality, setting a tone of gratitude and unity. He shared the vision behind the Beach Soccer Stars Awards, launched in 2014 to honour players, coaches, and referees, stating, “This event promotes the sport, celebrates talent, and fosters community.” Cuscó further revealed that 221 valid votes from 108 captains and 113 coaches determined the Gala’s awards, ensuring a democratic celebration of excellence.

The future is bright,’ Mr Cuscó affirmed, noting that seven countries have already asked to host the next World Cup, just ten days after the 13th edition. He closed with a call to action, urging FIFA to establish a Women’s Beach Soccer World Cup, declaring, ‘They deserve it!’ His words set an inspiring tone for the ceremony.

The first award to be handed out at the Gala was the Referees Award, which was presented to Sergio Gomes Soares for outstanding officiating, setting a new standard for fairness and precision in beach soccer. The Coach Award went to Marco Octavio of Brazil, who led Brazil to success 2024. Suli Bâtis earned the Rising Star Award for his standout performance as the breakout talent, recognised for his outstanding performance in 2024. The Beach Soccer Legends Award honoured Bruno Torres for his lifelong impact on the sport, cementing his legacy as an icon, presented by previous winner of the award and teammate of Torres, Madjer.

The Best Event Award was presented to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2025 European Qualifier in Andalucía, Cádiz, Spain. Its electrifying atmosphere captivated fans worldwide.

The Best Goalkeeper Award honoured Pedro Mano of Portugal, who won the men’s category, and Laura Gallego of Spain retained the women’s award for her continued excellence. 

The Best Goal of the Year Award went to Andrea Mirón of Spain for her brilliant goal against Switzerland at the 2024 EBSL Nazaré. Fans worldwide voted from a shortlist of ten goals to select her as the winner. Virginia Martin, Councillor for Inclusion and Equality for Cádiz, presented the award.

The Best 5 of the Year award for beach soccer honoured the 2024 dream team, a lineup of players who dominated the season. Pedro Mano (Portugal), the men’s goalkeeper winner, was the first called to the stage. Jordan Santos (Portugal) followed, earning his second selection. Léo Martins (Portugal), a 2021 Best Player Award nominee, joined the prestigious lineup. Bê Martins (Portugal) secured his fourth consecutive selection, and Rodrigo Soares (Brazil) completed the team with his third appearance in the Best 5 of the Year.

The Best Player Award, the pinnacle of individual achievement, was awarded to two standout performers. Gorka Lerchundi, Director General of Events and Sports Facilities for the Junta de Andalucía, presented the women’s prize to Adriele Rocha of Brazil, who secured the title for the third consecutive year.

The men’s Best Player Award was presented by Germán Beardo, Mayor of El Puerto de Santa María, to Portugal’s Bê Martins, claimed the title for the second time for his leadership and scoring prowess in an exceptional season.
