Rodrigo Soares and Andrea Mirón crowned Best Players at the 2025 Beach Soccer Stars Awards

Lelê Lopes, Adriana Manau, Andrea Mirón, Bárbara Colodetti and Taii named in inaugural Women’s Best Five

The 2025 Beach Soccer Stars Awards 2025, held at the Teatro Pedro Muñoz Seca in El Puerto de Santa María, celebrated another outstanding year for world beach soccer, recognising the sport’s top players, coaches, referees, and events from the 2025 season. The ceremony brought together leading figures from across the global beach soccer community, with a major spotlight placed on the continued rise of the women’s game.

One of the standout moments of the evening was the introduction of the inaugural Women’s Best Five Award, a landmark addition to the gala that reflects the growing investment and recognition of women’s beach soccer worldwide. The new category aligns with the global “Own the Sand” initiative, launched to promote and strengthen the women’s game internationally. The historic first Women’s Best Five featured Lelê Lopes in goal alongside Adriana Manau, Andrea Mirón, Bárbara Colodetti, and Taii.

The Men’s Best Five Award recognised another elite lineup featuring goalkeeper Bobô alongside Bê Martins, Josep Jr., Rodrigo Soares, and Thanger.

The evening also celebrated individual and collective excellence across the sport. Rodrigo Soares and Andrea Mirón claimed the Men’s and Women’s Best Player Awards respectively after exceptional campaigns. Mirón added another accolade to her night after also being named in the inaugural Women’s Best Five.

Other major winners on the night included Lukasz Ostrowski, who received the Best Referee Award, while Nico Alvarado was named Best Coach. In an emotional moment, Nico Alvarado presented a tribute engraved with “FOREVER DAVID CORDÓN” to the family of the late David Cordón. Alvarado shared the Spanish national team dressing room with Cordón between 2001 and 2004, making the gesture especially meaningful during the ceremony.

The Beach Soccer Legend Award was presented to Dejan Stankovic in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the sport.

The Rising Star Award went to Pola for his emergence as one of the game’s brightest young talents, while Glenn Hodel won the Best Goal Award, becoming the first Swiss player to receive the honour. Lelê Lopes was named Women’s Best Goalkeeper, while Bobô secured the Men’s Best Goalkeeper Award.

The Best Event Award was presented to the Euro Beach Soccer League Georgia 2025 for delivering one of the most memorable competitions of the season and further elevating the global profile of beach soccer.

Speaking during the gala, he re-emphasised remarks made at last year’s ceremony about a forthcoming FIFA project aimed at reinforcing beach soccer worldwide through increased events, wider participation, and greater support for national associations in both men’s and women’s competitions.

Cuscó also paid tribute to former Portugal national beach soccer team coach Mário Narciso for his contribution to the sport. Narciso was invited onto the stage to receive a shirt signed by the Portuguese players, presented by Madjer and José Fontelas Gomes in a heartfelt moment during the ceremony.

“In the last few years we face fights and wars and lots of conflicts and problems… This is why we work with One Humanity, trying to make people understand that we are all together,”

Cuscó said during the ceremony in El Puerto de Santa María.

Reflecting on wider global challenges affecting sport and society, Cuscó also spoke about the impact of ongoing conflicts around the world, including the difficulties faced by nations such as Ukraine in continuing international competition. He emphasised beach soccer’s role in promoting unity and solidarity through the “One Humanity” message.
