Group A
Poland win 5-1 against Lithuania

Lithuania made the brighter start as Poland’s own goal early in the opening period handed them a 1–0 lead. Poland responded quickly through Pietrasiak, who levelled the contest at 1–1 heading into the first break.

Poland took full control in the second period, scoring three unanswered goals through Brochocki, Fudala, and Pietrasiak’s second of the match to establish a commanding 4–1 advantage.

Mańka added a late goal in the third and final period to complete a convincing 5–1 victory for Poland.

Spain win 4-3 against Switzerland
Spain came through a tightly contested opening period against Switzerland, which remained goalless before Pepe broke the deadlock three minutes from the interval. Switzerland responded almost immediately through Hodel, who levelled the score just seconds before the break to make it 1-1.

The second period saw Switzerland take control with two quick goals from Knöpfli and their goalkeeper Eliott, putting them 3-1 ahead. Spain fought back strongly, reducing the deficit through Switzerland’s own goal before Domingo struck in the final minute of the period to bring the sides level at 3-3 heading into the last period.

Spain completed the comeback in the third period, with Kuman scoring midway through to settle a dramatic contest. Backed by a strong home crowd, Spain held firm in the closing stages to secure a narrow 4-3 victory.

Group B
Czechia win 5-3 against Türkiye in penalties, after a 2-2 draw

The opening period ended level at 1–1 after Türkiye’s Cengizhan opened the scoring midway through the period, only for Pekarek to respond immediately for Czechia.

No goals were recorded in the second period as both sides struggled to find a breakthrough, setting up a tense and decisive final period.

Late drama unfolded in the third period as Trampota gave Czechia a 2–1 lead that looked enough to secure victory, but Cengizhan struck seconds before the final whistle to force extra time. With neither side able to find the winner in added time, the match went to penalties, where Czechia prevailed 5–3 to secure a hard-fought victory and a point.

Portugal win 5-4 against Belarus
Portugal edged a thrilling encounter against Belarus in a fast-paced opening period that produced four goals. Ryabko struck twice to give Belarus an early advantage, while Brilhante and Fábio responded for Portugal to ensure the sides went into the break level at 2-2.

The second period continued at a high intensity, with Hapon restoring Belarus’ lead through a brilliant effort. However, Portugal hit back immediately through Tim to level the score once again, before Fábio added his second of the match to give Portugal a narrow 4-3 advantage heading into the final period.

Portugal extended their lead just moments after the restart in the third period through Bê Martins, putting them in control of the contest. Belarus refused to go away, with Bryshrel pulling one back to set up a tense finish, but Portugal held firm to secure a hard-fought 5-4 victory.

WOMEN
Czechia win 4-2 against England, at extra time
Czechia secured a dramatic extra-time victory over England after a tightly contested opening period. Barron gave England an early lead just two minutes into the match, but Hamouzova quickly responded to level the score at 1-1, setting the tone for a competitive encounter.

The second period remained evenly balanced, with both sides struggling to convert chances as the match stayed locked at 1-1 heading into the decisive stages.

England regained the advantage early in the third period through a brilliant strike from Evans, but a late own goal in the closing seconds forced the match into extra time. Czechia made the most of the momentum shift, taking control in the additional period to secure a 4-2 victory.

Switzerland win 6-5 against Spain
Switzerland and Spain produced a high-scoring opening period, with six goals shared in a frantic start to the contest. Schärer put Switzerland ahead midway through, before Andrea Mirón quickly restored parity for Spain. Nauer then reinstated the Swiss advantage, only for Jessi to respond once again. However, late strikes from Eisenegger and Küffer gave Switzerland a 4-2 lead heading into the first break.

The second period saw Switzerland take firm control, with Flury netting twice to extend their advantage and establish a commanding 6-2 lead heading into the final period.

Spain mounted a strong fightback in the third period, with Carol scoring twice and Natalia adding another to reduce the deficit and set up a tense finish. Despite their late surge, time ran out for the hosts as Switzerland held on to secure a narrow 6-5 victory.
