Norway, Azerbaijan, and Latvia book their places in the semi-finals


Action continued on Thursday in Batumi as the competition heated up. Norway, Azerbaijan, and Latvia have already secured their places in the semi-finals, an impressive feat considering Azerbaijan and Latvia still have one group game left to play. These results underscore the high stakes and competitiveness of the tournament, as the final semi-final spot will be decided on Friday.

Group A
Norway win 3-2 against Malta

Norway took command early in the match, with Risanger netting twice in the first period to establish a 2-0 lead. They extended their advantage in the second period with a goal from Haga, moving ahead 3-0.

Malta began their response late in the second period as Cutajar found the back of the net to make it 3-1. They continued to fight hard but the Norwegians held their side with a two goal cushion heading tot he final period.

late in the third period, Bray found the net for Malta to cut the deficit. Despite a spirited push from the Maltese side, Norway secured a 3-2 victory.

Group B
Azerbaijan win 4-2 against Slovakia
Azerbaijan wasted no time establishing their presence on the sand, taking control early in the first period. Goals from Elchin and Kamran gave them a solid 2-0 cushion to carry into the first break.

The second period proved to be a much tighter affair as Slovakia mounted a comeback. Lipovský and Letko both found the net to narrow the gap, but a crucial strike from Ramil kept Azerbaijan in front, ending the period with a 3-2 lead.

In the final frame, Azerbaijan tightened their defensive structure while continuing to press forward. Orkhan added a final goal to confirm the result, securing a hard-earned 4-2 victory for his side.

latvia win 6-2 against England
Latvia opened the scoring in the first period through Grīslis, setting the tone for the match. They doubled their lead late in the period with a goal from Ģēgers to a 2-0 advantage going into the first break.

In the second period, England responded with a goal from Robinson, but Latvia quickly regained control with another strike from Grīslis to end the period 3-1.

England managed a second goal through Lawson early in the third period to make it 3-2. But Latvia finished strong, pulling away with two goals from Spunde and a final strike from Puriņš to seal a 6-2 victory.
