Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup: A Celebration of Inclusion, Sustainability, and Community Impact.

During the Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup, held from December 13 to 15 in Acapulco, Mexico, the Beach Soccer Foundation, UNAOC and Mundo Imperial promoted four important actions: Kids Day, turtle release, beach cleanup and friendly matches between teams from the universities from Acapulco.

In the first action, we collaborated with the DIF organization, whose mission is to contribute to the social well-being of vulnerable groups in Acapulco, as well as to promote family and community integration, always guided by ethics, transparency, efficiency, and social commitment. Athletes and technical teams from the national teams of Spain, the United States, and Mexico came together for this special activity. Among the participants were “Nene” Miguel Ángel Bazo, Andrea Alcaide, and Jesús Sánchez Requena representing the Spanish team; Malia Mariano, Vivian Oray, Austin Colier, Antonio Chávez, Denise Belmontes-Lopez, Ashley Cardozo, Jeff Parrish, Germán Sferra, Juan Chávez, and Diego Casilla for the United States team; and Gabriel Macias, Alejandro Garcia, Cristian Ramírez, Valeria López, Francisco Cati, Abdiel Villa, Brianda Escobedo, and Yael Hernández for the Mexican team.

The turtle release and beach cleanup took place at La Playa Chula Vista, where all federations actively participated, aiming to help the community of Acapulco, which is still facing the aftermath of Hurricane Otis. These actions reinforce the commitment of the teams and the Beach Soccer Foundation to sustainability and support for local communities.

The last action consisted of friendly matches between university teams, held at the beautiful GNP Seguros Stadium, a venue that has also been the stage for great performances by national teams. The teams played with official Puma balls, providing the players with a unique and high-quality experience. Everyone was able to enjoy the best of football in an environment that emphasized camaraderie and sportsmanship.

These initiatives not only benefited the community of Acapulco but also created a spirit of solidarity among the athletes and local residents, demonstrating that sports can be a powerful agent of social change. The Beach Soccer Foundation, through these actions, reaffirms its mission to promote sports as a tool for sustainable development and social inclusion, showing that beyond competing on the field, it is possible to make a difference in people’s lives and in the preservation of the planet.

Thus, the Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup was not just a celebration of beach soccer but also a platform for meaningful actions that seek to transform realities and inspire a more sustainable future. The union of efforts among athletes, organizations, and the community reflects the true essence of the sporting spirit, where victory goes beyond medals and trophies, reaching hearts and minds in pursuit of a better world.
