Second edition of the Pakistan beach soccer league was claimed by Zamindar FC
Sunday 20 October was a memorable day for beach soccer in Pakistan as the second edition of the national beach soccer league was began.
After making it all the way to the final on Sunday 3 November, Zamindar FC beat Government College Masai Zee by five goals to three, to knock the reigning champions Zhob, who won the first ever edition in 2018, off the throne.
The event was attended by Mr. Abdul Wali Badzai, Chairman of the Regional Sports Committee and General Secretary Ibrahim Kakar, as well as several other local sports personnel.
Eight teams participated in the first edition of the Pakistan Beach Soccer League, but the competition tripled in size the second year, with no lees than 24 teams participating, demonstrating the incredible growth that beach soccer is experiencing in the region.
In addition to the four provinces of the country, teams from Azad Kashmir also participated. The sides were divided into two groups of 12 and the tournament was played on a knock-out basis.
