Bittersweet day for Belgians and Spanish
Matchday 2 started with style as Sara reacted quicker to a throw-in and backheeled it into the net to open the score. The stylish goals continued with Carol scoring with an overhead kick and goalkeeper Laura firing it from distance for the Spanish side to take the 3 points. A well-fought encounter took place between Newteam Brussels and FC10 Ladies, but two quick goals from Kempson and Grodzicka put the Polish side in a comfortable position to control the game, with both players finishing the game with a brace each. The Belgians never backed down and had plenty of opportunities to score but the posts and goalkeeper Slavych kept them from taking points from the game.
Group C had another round of matches at the end of the day, and a nail-biting matchup took place between AISP San Javier and Newteam Brussels. The Spanish were leading 3-1, but with the support of the men’s team in the stands, the Belgians turn the game around with Gomboso shining to clinch the comeback. Local team Nazaré 2022 faced Bavaria Beach Bazis in a matchup that went into the second period without goals. It was then when Šandor netted a hat-trick that pointed the way to the German 5-2 win.
Marseille and Cáceres off on the right foot
In Group D, Marseille and KylPä were protagonists of a thrilling encounter. The French broke the deadlock with a combination play from a set-piece, the Finnish equalized but before going into the second period Pradier was quicker and one-on-one with the keeper put Marseille back leading. The match was even until Adri signed the final result of 4-2 for Marseille. BS Zeeland went into the second period winning 2-0 but Cáceres’s Corbacho hit the net twice to inspire her team for the comeback that granted the 3 points to the Spanish side with a 4-2 win.

SC Rappiranhas kicked off the 2022 Euro Winners Cup campaign against hosts ACD O Sótão with a Cavelti strike in the first 12 minutes to snatch the lead. Portuguese international Luisa Meza pulled one back for the locals but Rappiranhas seal the essentially points after two more decisive goals. Maria Soto packed a hat-trick while Molly Clark, Martin, Nerea and Lorena all scored a brace each as the Spanish beat Amneville 15-4 in Group A.
