The opening match of the El Salvador Beach Soccer Cup 2025, saw defending champions take on Switzerland.

Valentine opened the scoring for the Americans in the opening minute of the first period, as her nation took a 1-0 lead into the first interval. Hannah Adler doubled the U.S. advantage, before Williams struck for the Swiss side to reduce USA’s lead. Flury netted late on to take the match to penalties, as Switzerland claimed victory in the shootout to win their first ever match at the El Salvador Beach Soccer Cup.

The hosts flew out the blocks in the first period, finding the net six times, with Calderon netting a hat-trick for the Salvadorans as Brenda scored Costa Rica’s only goal of the period. Costa Rica’s Lee Rosse scored the opening goal in the second phase of play, before El Salvador ran riot once again as they hit the back of the net another four times. El Salvador put the match to bed in the third and final period, as Tamacas scored twice and goalkeeper Maravilla struck. Despite Haydee scoring for Costa Rica in the period, it wasn’t enough for her team as El Salvador started their El Salvador Beach Soccer Cup 2025 journey with a strong 13-3 win.
