Vasco da Gama, South American kings!

The Trem Bala da Areia run past Rosario Central in the final of Copa Libertadores

Vasco da Gama gave the word “champion” a wider meaning today, amusing the beach soccer world once again as they run past Argentinean Rosario Central to brilliantly claim the first ever Copa Libertadores.

The Carioca side never gave their opponents a single opportunity to dream about snatching the cup, and stayed stunningly inspired to finish the game in the first stages.

Three goals by Mauricinho, and three more by Bokinha, Copa Libertadores’ MVP and Top scorer respectively, rocketed Vasco da Gama to glory, no matter how hard the Academia tried to counteract.

Rosario Central showed they breed, their passion, their pride gain today, but that was not enough to combat the amount of magic they had in front of them.

Notwithstanding, the Academia wrote today one ver bright page of their history, having reached the final of such a tough competition as the Copa Libertadores.

CD Iquique claims bronze

In the match for third place, sound defense and timely attacks were the perfect formula for CD Iquique, who clinched the bronze following a stout win over Peruvian champions Punta Hermosa BSC.

Captain Sergio Argote was in hand for the Chilean, with two goals that made the way easier for them before two more goals rounded a 4-0 advantage.

Punta Hermosa’s reaction was way to little to short to even let them dream about a miraculous reaction. Jara’s 4-1 was as far as they would get, with final whistle confirming CD Iquique ears 3rd in this Copa Libertadores.

The rest of the games today sent CN Puerta del Lago 5th, Santa Marta 6th, Club Malvin 7th and Hamacas FC 8th. Real Academia Reales Miranda were already the 9th team in the competition, after occupying the last place in Group A after the round robin stage.
