Both sides claimed a win each during weekend friendlies in Plycem.
Switzerland and Costa Rica picked up a win apiece in their friendly matches at the weekend, with the two nations meeting on Friday and Saturday in Plycem.
While Switzerland are continuing their preparations for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas with a series of warm-up matches, Costa Rica are just a few weeks away from the CONCACAF qualifier in Nassau.
The first match-up took place on Friday evening and saw Noel Ott score four times to help keep the hosts at bay.
Despite braces from Greivin Pacheco and Eddie Jimenez, Costa Rica came up just short in their attempts at a fightback – going down 7-5 – although Saturday morning’s rematch would offer the chance of revenge.
Pacheco once again struck twice while Dejan Stankovic’s four-goal haul inspired the Swiss, with both sides level at 5-5 come the end of normal time.
From there, the home side took their chance as goals from Jimenez, Johnson and Pacheco sealed the 8-5 victory.
Next up for Costa Rica in their CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship preparations is a double-header against Japan later this month.
