USA and El Salvador qualify for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup!

Both teams reach the final of the Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship and seal ticket to Russia

The United States and El Salvador have qualified for the 2021 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Russia after posting semifinal victories in the 2021 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship on Saturday at the Sports Complex Fedefutbol-Plycem in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

The day kicked off with long-time rivals USA and Mexico squaring off in a rematch of the 2019 CBSC Final won by Mexico.

But on this occasion, USA turned the tables with a 5-2 victory. Wilfredo Ramos scored a pair of goals and was joined on the scoresheet by Nicolas Perera, Tomas Canale and David Mondragon, while a U.S. own goal and a Cristofher Castillo goal accounted for Mexico’s scoring.

For USA, it is their sixth time to qualify for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and their second straight World Cup appearance.

The second semifinal then saw El Salvador defeat Central American rivals Guatemala 6-2.

A Guatemala own goal and scores from Heber Ramos, Exon Perdomo, Elmer Robles, Ruben Batres and Francisco Velasquez paved the way for the Cuscatlecos, while Guatemala got goals from Christopher Gonzalez and William Alvarez.

For El Salvador, it is their fifth World Cup qualification.
