BSWW, Torredembarra, and Europes´best Beach Soccer teams are set for an exciting weekend
The official Euro Beach Soccer League press conference was held today in Torredembarra, Spain. The Costa Daurada resort will be hosting the EBSL Superfinal and Promotion final beginning the 8th of August and ending with a champion being crowned on the 11th of August.
Torredembarra is no stranger to hosting EBSL events as last year they were the gracious hosts of a regular phase stage. This year the ante is higher and everyone in the city is ready for it. The Mayor of Torredembarra, Daniel Masagué said, ?This is the greatest event of the European season and we are privileged to have it on our beaches?since the event last year our expectations and goals were raised and so far they have been accomplished and met with good marks.?
With the backdrop of some breathtaking beaches and views, representatives from the city, including the Mayor Daniel Masagué and the Director of Tourism, Ignasi Duan, and Beach Soccer Worldwide, came together to discuss the huge event coming in less than two weeks. Gabino Renales, General Manager at BSWW, stated, ?With twice the amount of teams compared to last years final, this traditional Beach Soccer town will serve as a great host and help prepare The Netherlands, Spain, Russia, and Ukraine for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013 in which they have already qualified for.?
The festivities in Torredembarra begin on the 7th of August when a friendly will be played between Catalunya and Italy. The winner of the Superfinal on Sunday will be named the best team in Europe and the winner of the Promotion final we earn the right to play in Division A next season.
