Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup is coming closer, and the finishing touches are being put for a world-class beach soccer facility at the Dubai Festival City in time to host the this terrific competition.
The Dubai Sports Council, organizers of the five-day tournament, have tied up with Dubai Festival City to have a brand-new stadium with a main sand pitch and a seating capacity of 2,500 spectators, plus a side pitch for pre-match practice and training.
“Everything is way ahead of schedule and we should be in a position to even run a test event before the tournament kicks off,” said Rashid Al Awadhi, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee and Director, Marketing and Communications at Dubai Sports Council.
The first action on the new pitch will precisely be an exhibition match between World champions Russia -who will be landing in Dubai this same Tuesday-, and hosts UAE to be played on October 26.
