A hat-trick from Jonathan helped La Roja down Czech Republic as hosts lose on day two
Spain pulled ahead of their group rivals with a second victory at the Talent Beach Soccer Cup Hungary 2019 on Saturday.
Hosts Hungary were edged by an extra time winner and remain in second as Poland pick up two points. Czech Republic are yet to taste victory in the Talent Cup and sit in fourth.
In Saturday’s first match David Ardil put Spain ahead after just seconds of the game being played, and this was all that separated the two sides at the first break.
In the second they extended their lead as Jonathan bagged two, and it wasn’t until the third period that Czech Republic pulled one back through Zurek. Jonathan completed his hat-trick and currently stands as the competition’s top scorer with four, as La Roja scored a total of five to top the group.
Hungary’s second test was against a tough Polish side, and the hosts opened the scoring through Nyeste to lead at the end of the opening period.
But the match was tight and Bistula equalised in the second period. Hungary retook the lead and then extended it to 3-1 when Nyeste scored his second and Deak also found the net.
Two last-period goals from Poland took the score to 3-3 at the end of normal time and Bistula snatched two points for Poland, who had spent the majority of the match trailing.
The Poles are still behind their hosts in the group ranking, sitting in third with one game still to play.
