Spain, Belarus, Italy and Ukraine to Play Semi-Finals in Viareggio

Four teams took one step closer to European glory


The final round of group stage fixtures took place in Viareggio, setting the stage for an exciting climax in the semi-finals, with just two wins now separating the contenders from the continental crown.

Group A
Portugal win 4-2 against France

France struck first through Guérin early in the opening period, but Portugal responded with two goals from Algarvio to turn the score around and lead 2–1.

In the second period, France battled back as Gosse found the net just two minutes before the break to make it 2–2. Portugal pressed but was unable to break through a resilient French defence in the period.

The third period belonged to Portugal, with Léo Martins netting a decisive brace to seal a 4–2 victory.

Italy win 1-0 against Belarus
The opening period ended goalless, with both teams cancelling each other out in attack and defence.

The deadlock was finally broken in the second period, when Italy’s goalkeeper Casapieri struck a long-range effort in the last minute to give his side a 1–0 lead.

Italy held firm in the final period, defending their narrow advantage to seal a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Belarus.

Group B
Ukraine win 6-5 on penalties against Denmark, after a 6-6 draw

Denmark started brightly, with Jensen opening the scoring just two minutes in before Madsen doubled their advantage. Ukraine halved the deficit late in the first period through Ross to trail 2–1 going into the break.

The second period was full of goals, as Nerush struck twice, Ross added his second, and Voitok also found the net to push Ukraine ahead. Madsen and Stugaard replied for Denmark, keeping the contest alive at 5–4.

Patapov extended Ukraine’s lead early in the final period, but Denmark mounted a strong comeback, with goals from Damm and Wegeberg levelling the match at 6–6. With no winner after extra time, Ukraine held their nerve in the shootout to edge Denmark 6–5 on penalties.

Spain win 10-4 against Switzerland
Spain raced into a commanding 5–0 lead in the first period, with goals from A. Ardil, Chiky, Ramy, and a brace from Suli Batis, setting the tone for a dominant display.

In the second period, Oliver and Suli Batis extended the advantage to 7–0 before Switzerland fought back, with Borer scoring three goals to close the gap to 7–3 going into the final period.

Steinmann added another for Switzerland at the restart, keeping them in contention. However, Spain elevated their performance, with Suli Batis completing his hat-trick and goals from Ridu and Ramy sealing a convincing 10–4 victory.
