The Italian league regular stage in Viareggio ended with Pisa top and the hosts in third
The regular stage of the Italian Scudetto took place last weekend in Viareggio, and the last eight clubs in the competition now know their head to head rivals.

The knockout stage of the Serie AON that will be staged in Cagliari from 5 to 7 August.
The third and final stage of the Regular Phase of the Scudetto and Promotion Poule was played on the sand of the “Matteo Valenti” Beach Stadium (with a capacity of more than 1,000) located on the beach of Bagno Flora in Viareggio.
The reigning champions, Pisa, made the top eight for the sixth season in a row. The Neroazzurri finished the stage in first place for the second time after their surprise in 2016. Catania, only one points behind the leaders, had to give up the leaders’ spot. They haven’t finished below second place at this stage since 2008.
Gabriele Gori closed the regular phase at the top of the scoring chart with 14 goals. If he continues his impressive form, he could win the Top Scorer in Serie AON for the sixth time.
Hosts Viareggio (who finished their home stage in third), were the only team to have forced Pisa to penalties. Since the club’s foundation in 2009, the former Euro Winners Cup champions have never failed to finish in the final eight. Happy Car Samb also qualified, its eleventh qualification to the knockout stages, and the fifth in a row.
There was good news also for Alsa Lab Napoli who took fourth in the standings, finishing in the top eight for the second time in as many years. The biggest surprise was provided by ADJ Nettunowho on their debut in the Poule Scudetto, winning an historic first qualification for the finals, managing to beat Terracina and Samb as well as giving Pisa a difficult match. Despite so many convincing performances, Sicily will have to compete in the Playoffs. Canalicchio Catania finished in last place.
The top seven clubs of the Poule Scudetto were joined by the winner of the City of Milan Promotion who took a photo finish on Adriatica Immobiliare Cagliari, Icierre Lamezia and Seatram Chiavari who will still play the Playoffs to participate in the Poule Scudetto 2022/2023.
