SC Braga sit a point ahead of Casa Benfica after penalties

Both sides dropped points for the first time in the 2022 Portuguese League on Saturday

The fourth and fifth rounds of the Portuguese Elite Beach Soccer Championship were held on Saturday and Sunday.

Defending champions SC Braga and Casa Benfica Loures, neither of whom had dropped points ahead of their match, faced off in a tight bout which ended in penalties where Braga narrowly claimed victory.

Both sides went on to win on Sunday, against AD Buarcos and ACD Sótão, to maintain the slim, one-point difference at the top of the league.

Sporting CP beat Varzim and São Domingos to shoot up the table into fourth place, while Nazaré club ACD Sótão also beat São Domingos and lost to Braga to remain in third.

Following Leixões first victory over Buarcos, São Domingos remain the only club yet to earn any points.
