The top clubs in the country join the battle for the 2021 cup title
One of Europe’s top domestic competitions returns, as the Russian Cup sees the Euro Winners Cup champions Kristall try to defend their title.
The second group stage of the Russian Cup began as the best eight teams from the first stage, are joined by the elite clubs.
The second stage is being held from 20 to 22 September in Anapa, and reigning champions Kristall won their opening match to open their title-defending campaign with points.
But Lokomotiv, who beat them to the nation league title in 2020, also took opening victories and will be eyeing silverware this season.
Hosts Spartak-Anapa showed promise in their opening match against DGTU but lost earlier today against Nika.
