Spain beats Germany too, and gets ready to tackle the hosts in stage decider tomorrow
Russia rules out Romanian last chances
Russia ran past Romania in the second matchday of the Euro Beach Soccer League Moscow 2013, after a terribly prolific second period in which the hosts got 4-0 ahead. With today?s victory, Likhachev?s side keeps on top of the table, together with Spain, who they are to take on tomorrow in the stage decider. The Russian win, at the same time, definitely rules out Romanina chances to the Superfinal, what defines the eight teams that will fly to Torredembarra: Poland, Spain, Ukraine, Holland, Portugal, Italy, Russia and defending champions Switzerland.
Just as yesterday, it took the hosts more than one period to open the score, with Leonov netting the opener two minutes into the second leg. Krash followed his captain immediately afterwards for the 2-0, and Romanov bagged a double to clear things up for the world champions and let his coach know that he will be there for whenever needed.
Romania could never find their place on the sand today, and were helplessly seeing how the Russian dominion turned into a loud victory. Shaykov, in the last period of the game got his name in the chart with his second goal in the tournament, thus closing a blunt 5-0.
With six points, andonly one goal down behind Spain, the hosts will try to avenge tomorrow the painful defeat in last summer?s final of the European Qualifier, in a game that will decide who the champion of this Euro Beacah Soccer League Moscow 2013 is, as well as who gets to the Superfinal in Torredembarra in the highest place of the season?s standings.
Goals: 1-0 Leonov, min. 10 (2); 2-0: Krash, min. 10 (2); 3-0: Romanov, min. 4 (2); 4-0: Romanov, min. 1 (2); 5-0: Shaykov, min. 6 (3)
Spain keeps tuned and stays ahead in Moscow
Regardless they had their place in the Superfinal already secured, the Spanish National Team did not ease off in Moscow, and captured three more points following a narrow win over Germany. With this new victory, La Roja stays on top of the table in this Euro Beach Soccer League, and will take on Russia tomorrow for the cup, and the highest place in the European standings so far.
Some goal shortage was experienced again on the sand of the Dynamo center, with no hits witnessed for most of half of the game. Only a free kick by Pajón got things started between Spaniards and Germans.
Germany were fighting for little more than pride, as the Superfinal was already impossible for them and the goal-average they had achieved so far got them safe ahead of France, escaping the Promotion Final. Even though, Boringschulte?s team tried to fight to bend Spain and earn the first points of the season.
Nothing worked for them, though, as Dona?s nets remained untouched for the whole game once again, as Fran Mejías widened the gap with the 2-0. The final whistle, then, got Spain three more points, and two more goals that got them on top of the table in Moscow. Tomorrow, the Spaniards will tackle the hosts, reediting the final of the European Qualifier, to see who bags the cup in this Euro Beach Soccer League stage.
