The Uruguay 11-a-side star joins Racing de Montevideo for the Uruguay National Championship
Former Inter de Milan and Uruguay National Team star Alvaro Recoba is another of the grass stars to have jumped onto the beach sand.
“El Chino” has joined Racing de Montevideo, and will take part in the Uruguay National League, kicking off this coming Tuesday, 19th of January.
The talented left footed forward who impressed the football world with his amazing technique and his terrific shooting capacity, will now bring his magic onto the sand.
Álvaro Recoba , who scored 163 goals in his professional career, including 69 caps for Uruguay, spent most of his career in Italy’s Serie A, where he played for Internazionale de Milano, Venezia and Torino, before moving to Greek Panionios.
After his spell in Europe, Recoba went back to Uruguay and played for the two clubs he played for before moving to the old Continent: Danubio and Nacional de Montevideo, where he retired last year.
His records include 2 Torneo Apertura and 2 Uruguayan Championships with Nacional, and 2 Scudetto, 2 Coppa Italia and 2 Supercoppa Italia with Inter.
