Press conference held in Moldova ahead of EBSL Division B stage

The conference was held in the media tribune of the state-of-the-art stadium in the capital Chisinau


A press conference was held in the Moldovan capital Chisinau on Tuesday, ahead of the kick off of the Euro Beach Soccer League Division B Regular Phase, which will take place from 28 July to 1 August.

Tournament Director Alexandru Golban was join by BSWW Director of Events Josep Ponset and Eduard Cretu, President of Moldova Beach Soccer Association, at the Parc La Izvor Stadium, and the press conference was broadcast live on national television.

Alexandru Golban began by expressing the sensation of hosting a top beach soccer event in the Moldovan capital. “It is a dream for us to host this international competition after so many years of working, and now we see that a top-level event will happen in our country. That was our objective, and with this goal we built this stadium.”

He then turned his attention to the Moldovan national team. “Our objective is to win the competition. This is our goal. The team has been training hard, preparing very well with different friendlies, and we have great expectations for this tournament.”

Mr Golban also highlight the tireless work of Pavel Cebanu (former FMF president) and Evgheni Bubis (former Beach Soccer Federation president), who were some of the main figures behind the success of the stadium and the event.

Josep Ponset (BSWW Director of Events) reiterated the excitement ahead of the competition and thanked the Moldovan hosts. “Firstly, thank you very much for the nice welcome our team has received and a huge congratulations for the amazing stadium. We are always looking to build permanent stadiums and it’s time to show this one to the whole world. There are 50 countries broadcasting this event all over the globe. Every day we will watch 5 amazing matches, and Moldova are improving every event. This is a perfect opportunity for them to impress.”

President of Moldova Beach Soccer Association, Eduard Cretu, added, “We have been waiting for this moment for 11 years. Now we have the opportunity to host such a high-level International competition at home, and we want to make the most of it.”
