The Guarani and the Verdeamarela, first CONMEBOL representatives in Bahamas, as Argentina and Ecuador will vie for the last ticket at stake
Paraguay and Brazil became today the first two teams to secure a berth in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Bahamas 2017 in the CONMEBOL pool. Both sides made their way to the final of the Eliminatorias CONMEBOL, thus securing a ticket to beach soccer’s biggest showcase.
Paraguay needed the stunning contribution by Carballo at extra time to seal a win that they seemingly had under control during the first stages of the game. But a laudable reaction by Ecuador sent the game to the supplementary three minutes, where the Guaraní magic impersonated in the team’s number 8, with two brilliant efforts that sent his side to the final of the competition, and to the World Cup in Bahamas.
Brazil, in turn, had a more Brazilian-way-of-doing-things victory over Argentina. The defending champions gave the Albiceleste no option, and controlled everything that happened on the sand to avoid any scare and cruise to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Bahamas 2017.
Brazilians and Paraguayans will square off tomorrow in the final of the competition, thus reediting last edition’s decider in Manta. Argentina and Ecuador will also reedit the dramatic fight for the third place, the only remaining World Cup slot at stake.
In the other game of the day, Peru used a goal by Drago in the extra time to beat Uruguay and clinch the seventh place at the Eliminatorias CONMEBOL al Mundial de Fútbol Playa de la FIFA- Asunción 2017.
