Overall World Ranking Updates now out through February 2016

The BSWW Overall World Ranking presented by Power Horse has been input into the database and the exciting changes are available to all

Every month the new Ranking is released and without fail there are surprises and movers, and this month was a close-call for biggest leap, between Japan and England, but in the end it was the Japanese who made the biggest leap over the past 29 days, earning the title of Mover of the Month. The Nippon moved from 13th to 11th and are on the precipice of the top-10, which in beach soccer is no small feat. The Asian country will surely build upon this step and use it to propel themselves to even higher places in 2016.

England now finds themselves of the cusp of the top-30, now sitting at 31 ahead of big-time players such as Ecuador, Greece, and Romania. The Top-10 saw a shift at the bottom of the order, where Paraguay moved up from 11th to 10th and the odd-team out was Argentina, who dropped three spots to 13th. Other than that, the top teams remained the same, Russia, Portugal, Brazil, Italy, Tahiti, Switzerland, Iran, Mexico,  Spain, and Paraguay forming the elite club.

The Overall World Ranking presented by Power Horse takes into account the wins, losses, hosting of events, and participation in the sport over the last 4 years. To move up countries must play, host, and win matches to move up as quick as possible. This creates a “what have you done for me lately” mentality, that helps to grow the sport and continue maximizing support and change. More high-profile events such as the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and the Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup Dubai hold more weight and can sway the Ranking even more. The Ranking is fluid and as the changes happen, www.beachsoccer.com will have the updates readily available.
