UAE, Spain and Brazil secure second wins in Saudi Arabia

Group A
UAE win 6-5 against England.
To get Group A action started on the second day of NEOM Beach Soccer Cup 2024, UAE faced England.
It was an first period to remember for UAE, striking three times in the opening 12 minutes without a response from their opponents. Goals came courtesy of Ali, Kamal and Mousab.
England responded incredibly in the second period, finding the back of the net three times in the space of two minutes through a Robinson brace and a goal from Lawson. Despite the setback for the Emiratis, A.Abbas restored the advantage for his team before the period came to a close.
Both teams were on target twice in the third and final period with A.Abbas scoring his second goal of the match and goalkeeper Bahri for UAE, while for their opponents Lawson completed his brace and Younie struck. Therefore, UAE clinched their second victory of the competition, securing maximum points so far.
Saudi Arabia win 7-6 against Germany, after extra-time.
Hosts Saudi Arabia took to the sand for the second time in the NEOM Beach Soccer Cup 2024 against Germany.
Alhamami and Qasem gave Saudi Arabia the lead in the first period as their nation took a 2-0 lead into the first interval.
The hosts added two more goals to their tally in the second period with Salman and Waleed finding the net, but Germany closed the gap on their opponents as Peterson scored a brace.
The third period provided even more action as four goals from the German side and two goals scored by Saudi Arabia meant the match went to extra-time at 6-6.
It was Waleed to score the winner for the host nation during the additional period as Saudi Arabia recorded their first win of this year’s competition to get two points on the board.
Group B
Spain win 13-1 against China.
The first Group B match of the day was a clash between Spain and China, as the Spaniards were looking to secure their second win of the tournament and China were hoping to bounce back from their opening day defeat.
Spain got off to a flying start in the match, as they led 5-0 by the end of first period thanks to goals from David Ardil, Pablo and Ramy, as well a brace from Suli Batis.
Goal scoring didn’t stop their either for the Spanish side as Suli Batis and Ramy completed their hat-tricks and Pablo scored his second of the match, leaving Spain nine goal ahead after 24 minutes.
The Spaniards ended the match in style as Suli Batis and Ramy both found the net for the fourth time and Chiky Ardil and Ridu got their names on the scoresheet. However, Spain failed to keep their clean sheet as Liu H R scored China’s only goal of the match.
Brazil win 6-5 against Japan.
The second Group B match of the day saw a repeat of the NEOM Beach Soccer Cup 2023 final as defending champions Brazil took on Japan.
The scores were even at 2-2 by the end of the first period of the first period as Antonio scored two for Brazil, and Oba and Akaguma for found the net Japan.
The teams couldn’t be separated in the second phase of play either as Benjamin Jr and Oba scored within six seconds of each other.
Brazil secured their second victory of the competition in the third and final period as a brace from Edson Hulk and a goal from Datinha made the difference, despite conceding goals from Akaguma and Oba.
