The African champions Senegal enjoy a ranking boost after their efforts in Lagos.
Recently-crowned African champions Senegal are Movers of the Month for December – the Lions climbing eight places to 12th as a result of their recent success in Lagos.
Senegal not only booked their place at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in the Bahamas by reaching the Lagos final but went on to claim the CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations title by beating hosts Nigeria.
With Babacar Fall and Al Seyni Ndiaye named Top Scorer and Best Goalkeeper respectively, it’s been a hugely positive few days for Senegal’s team, who now sit just two places behind the top 10.
That section is largely unchanged, although Paraguay jump above Spain into ninth thanks partly to their second-place finish at the Copa America Futbol Playa 2016 in Santos.
Winners Brazil close the gap to Russia in second while a third-place finish for Venezuela was enough to move them up a huge 22 places to 35th.
Nigeria’s run to the CAF Qualifier final gives them a timely 10-place boost as they sneak into the top 20 while the other event this month – the Juegos Bolivarianos de Futbol Playa in Iquique, Chile – saw El Salvador clinch gold.
La Selecta now sit 19th while beaten finalists Paraguay – already looking strong under new coach Guga – are looking up at the top eight.
Hosts Chile are up 12 spots to 26th after ensuring themselves a place on the podium.
