Türkiye win 4-2 against Saudi Arabia.
Türkiye and Saudi Arabia went toe-to-toe in the first match of the final day in Moldova, as both sides were looking to get points on the board for the first time in this year’s competition.
The teams went in level at the first interval as both teams found the net. It was Alduiasri to take the lead for the Saudi Arabians inside the opening few minutes of the match, as Türkiye made the scores even minutes later through Semih.
In the second period, Efe Lorenzo gave Türkiye the lead in the fixture for the first time but Alhamami levelled the scoring to make for an intense final 12 minutes in the Moldovan capital.
The final period belonged to the Turkish side as both Volkan and Semih found the net to secure their nation all three points in their final match in Chișinău.
Moldova win 6-3 against Poland.
The last match of the Euro Beach Soccer League Moldova 2024 – Division A saw host nation Moldova face Poland, in a match which would see the winners of the competition crowned as both sides were sat on six points each heading into the fixture.
It took until the final minute of the first period for the deadlock to be broken in the match as Popescu hit the back of the net with 32 seconds on the clock in the opening 12 minutes, to give Moldova the advantage.
Popescu’s evening got even better as he found the net twice in the second phase of play to secure his hat-trick on home soil, with Moldova leading 3-0 with one period left in the match.
Poland had work to do if they were to get themselves back into the match in the last period, however, the job became more difficult as Popescu converted for the fourth time in the game and captain Cojocari scored Moldova’s fifth. Poland did eventually strike as Pietrasiak, Witkowski and Wardziński all hit the target, with two goals separating the teams with three minutes remaining.
With the match drawing to a close, Turta confirmed victory for the hosts as he netted in the final seconds as Moldova clinched the Euro Beach Soccer League Moldova 2024 – Division A title.
Individual awards
During the awards ceremony in Chișinău, three individual awards were given out to the top performers from the competition. The ‘Best goalkeeper’ award was given to Moldova goalkeeper Ruslan Istrati, the ‘MVP’ award was handed to Moldova player Petru Popescu and the ‘Top scorer’ award was won by Poland’s, Patryk Pietrasiak.
