Minots de Marseille have won Euro Winners Challenge

The winners of the 2023 Euro Winners Challenge have been found in an action-packed final at the Estádio do Viveiro Jordan dos Santos. Minots de Marseille beat local side Sótao B 9-5 and thus earned a place in the quarter-finals of the Euro Winners Cup.

An even first period finished with both teams leveled two goals to two, but in the second period Basquaise and Dhaouadi put Minots in a comfortable position leading by two goals.

Diassy was particularly inspired in the third period as he netted a hat-trick, with Basquaise also signing a brace to increase Minots’s advantage and confirm their place in the Euro Winners Cup with a 9-5 win.

Locals finish third

In the play-off matches, AD Nazaré 2022 won the third place match defeating AD Buarcos 6-4 with Thales scoring three goals, like the competition’s top scorer, Buarcos’s Francisco.

Vila Flor finished fifth as they beat Leixões 4-1 and FC Genappe won 6-3 against Saint Médard en Jalles with Lança scoring four goals.
