Victory over Bella Vista ensures Malvin lift the Copa de Oro in Montevideo.
Malvin were crowned Copa de Oro champions on Sunday as part of the Liga Uruguaya de Futbol Playa Pre-Libertadores in Montevideo.
The traditional Uruguayan heavyweights – who finished seventh at the recent Copa Libertadores de Futbol Playa in Santos – once again came out on top against their national rivals, as they saw off Bella Vista in the final at the Estadio Arenas del Plata.
Bella Vista moved past Progreso in their quarter-final before ensuring a shot at the title by beating Racing in the semis.
In the other side of the draw, Malvin swept aside Boston River and Cerrito to reach the final, where they then ran out comfortable 6-2 winners.
Malvin goalkeepers Diego Monserrat and Andres Freira were jointly awarded the Best Goalkeeper award while Jorge Barrios of Cerrito claimed Top Scorer honours for the competition.
Bella Vista won the overall fair play award.
Racing’s 9-8 win against Cerrito ensured them third place in the Copa de Oro while Rocha and Cuban Park were crowned Copa de Plata and Copa de Bronce champions respectively.
