Logodor win women’s championship in Russia

The new league winners defeated Zvezda in the final on 28 July

The Russian league debutants Logodor won the 2021 title with a 3-2 victory over former champions Zvezda in the final last Wednesday.

With the likes of Anastasia Novikova, Nadezhda Ushakova and Anastasia Gorshkova, the winners of the Moscow championships were always going to pose a threat, and they held on to edge an inevitably tight match for the historic achievement.

Brazilian Barbara Colodetti boosted the already star-studded Zvezda ranks, who finished runners-up in the 2021 Euro Winners Cup in Portugal last month, but it wasn’t enough for the competition favourites to add another Russia league title to their trophy cabinet.

Strogino finished third after beating Lokomotiv-Groza by three goals to one.

Final Standings:

Champions – Logodor
Runners-up – WFC Zvezda
3rd – Strogino
4th – Lokomotiv-Groza
5th – Drive32-BGUOR
6th – Alpha-09
7th – Morflot
8th – GFC Adrenaline
