The “Granota” edge CD Bala Azul in the final of the Spanish National Championship to claim the throne
Levante UD are the new champions of the Spanish National Championship, following their 8-2 win against CD Bala Azul.
Antonio, with four goals, was the main protagonist of the final, held in Mazarrón (Murcia), in which Levante had things under control from beginning to end. Dona, the man under the sticks, was also key for the trophy consecution, and was awarded as the MVP of the competition.
José Miralles, José Enrique, Edu Suárez and Fernando Guisado added their names to the scorer’s list for Levante, too, building a wide advantage CD Bala Azul was never able to counteract.
The Levantinistas stayed perfect during the whole competition. Three wins in three games during the group stage (5-0 over Playas de Mazarrón, 3-4 over Cadiz CF Sotelo and 1-8 over Barbate CF) sent the “Granota” to the decider of the competition on Sunday, where they rolled past their opponents to seize the cup.
In the fight for the third place, clearly bent Cadiz CF Sotelo bent Mentidero CF (6-1) and claimed bronze. For the Andalusian side, Javi Torres, with 9 goals, became the top scorer of the competition.
