Schirinzi’s men beat Lokomotiv in the final on Sunday while Spartak edged city rivals for third
Another final, another trophy for the mighty Saint Petersburg club, won the Russia Cup on Sunday 26 September in Anapa.
It is the sixth time that Kristall have won the competition.
They defeated the 2020 league champions Lokomotiv Moscow in the final on Sunday with a final score of 4-2.
The goals came from Remizov, Makarov and Datinha, as Angelo Schirinzi leads his side to yet another trophy in the 2021 season, completing the triple: Euro Winners Cup, Russian League and Russian Cup.
Kristall’s Rodrigo received the MVP award and Maksim Chuzhkov won the Best Goalkeeper, while Lokomotiv’s Boris Nikonorov won the Top Scorer, as he had for Russia at the EBSL Superfinal, with 11 goals. Spartak’s Anton Shkarin won Top Assister.
In the battle for bronze, a Moscow derby was contended between CSKA and Spartak Moscow, and it was Spartak who just managed to edge their rivals with a late own goal to take the final score to 3-2.
Kristall have shown real domination on the club scene in the 2021 season, can anyone prise the trophies from their hands next year?
