Ruy Ramos returns as Technical Director alongside former player Shinji Makino.
Japan have announced the return of Ruy Ramos as Technical Director as well as the appointment of Shinji Makino as coach as part of their preparations for FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2019 qualification.
Brazil-born Ramos, 60, was part of the Japan setup at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup editions in 2005, 2009, 2011 and 2013 and comes in following the departure of compatriot Marcelo Mendes, who left his role after the 2017 competition in The Bahamas.
Ramos – who represented Japan’s national football team 32 times between 1990 and 1995 – will work alongside coach Makino over the coming months with a view to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup next year.
The 41-year-old is a former Japan beach soccer international, having participated at seven FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup editions between 2005 and 2015.
Makino also served as a player and director for Leon Fukuoka in 2010 as well as a JFA beach soccer clinic selection supervisor last year.
