Kazakhstan win 3-1 on penalties against Belgium, after a 3-3 draw
The opening period proved tightly contested and ended goalless as both defences held firm under intense pressure. The deadlock continued in the second period until 1 minute left on the clock when Romain found the net for Belgium. Kazakhstan hit back immediately with Shotanov’s strike to level the score at 1-1.

The third period exploded into high drama. Dorian restored Belgium’s lead early in the period, before Demeshko struck for Kazakhstan to make it 2-2. However, Demeshko struck again right at the very end of the period with 1 minute left in extra time to level the match at 3-3 and force a shootout.

Belgium managed only one successful conversion through Anis, but Kazakhstan dispatched their spot-kicks flawlessly through Dering, Demeshko, and Yershin to secure a 3-1 shootout triumph.
