Important World Cup Qualifier meeting held in Jesolo

The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2015 Qualifier Europe – Jesolo press conference took place at Terrazzamare in Italy as the countdown to match play begins

Gianfranco Coppola, RAI Journalist and member of the AIPS committee conducted the pivotal meeting regarding the official announcement for the European Qualifier of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015. In attendance were Daniela Donadello, the Advisor of Tourism of Jesolo for the local council, Gusieppe Ruzza, the FIGC-LND Regional Committee President of Veneto, Ferdinando Arcopinto, from the FIGC-LND Department of Beach Soccer, Cesare Toso, the General Manager of the LOC and Administrator of the SPC, and Gabino Renales, the General Manager of BSWW. 

 

First to speak, Daniela Donadello, started by saying, “We are happy to host the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2015 Qualifier Europe Jesolo. It is a great opportunity for tourism, not only because of the thousands of fans that will get to experience the games but also the enormous amount of fans that will have the chance to witness the action through television.” She also said that Jesolo is always available for more events and that this competition will assist in making Jesolo known as a beach soccer hub. This event is a perfect combination of two core practices in Jesolo, sport and tourism.

 

Gusieppe Ruzza said, “The long tradition that the FIGC has had in beach soccer makes this such an importand event.  We were one of the first nations to fully support beach soccer and this is such a great honour.” In fact, Italy has one of the most respected National Leagues, the Serie A Enel, and it is no surprise that they are highly regarded in beach soccer circles.

 

Cesare Toso, poignantly said, “The importance of the logistics and making things run smoothly. He went on to say that the tireless work of the LOC and their involvement are and will be very important to the events´ success.

 

Gabino Renales noted the growing number of teams on the global scale and that makes this even more revered. Even more important is how big the game is growing, as beach soccer will reach over 250,000,000 househelds. He continued with, “The game shows no signs of slowing and beach soccer in Italy can only help the growth.

 

The matches will begin on September 4th and finish on the 14th as only the best will rise to the occasion and earn their spot in the upcoming World Cup. Nearly 30 teams have been given the opportunity to compete though only a few will end their trip in glory, with the hopes of even more success ahead in 2015. Also in attendance was the charming Miss Italia 2013, Giulia Arena, who is from Sicily.
