The two sides came to an agreement that will help create an even higher standard for the quality of the playing surface in events
One of the most important, if not the most important factor in an official beach soccer tournament is to have the best possible sand, based on location, weather, and event specification, and now through the agreement between Hutcheson Sand & Mixes and Beach Soccer Worldwide that goal will be attained.
The quality of play is often dictated by player safety and their acknowledgment of the quality of the sand. Thanks to this agreement, all the sands in all the stadiums in the world will undergo a thorough analysis at Hutcheson headquarters. This analysis will result in a complete report pointing how adequate any given sand is for beach soccer practice, as well as a set of suggestions on how to improve, if necessary, the playing surface of a given stadium.
Joan Cusco, BSWW Executive Vice President and FIFA Beach Soccer Committee Member, highlights the importance of working hand in hand with top-flight experts: “For Beach Soccer Worldwide, the quality of the sand is one of the key concerns, as it affects the game and the perception of the spectacle both by our fans at the stadium and at home, at the same time we seek to bring our players the best surface where to develop their activity. Consequently, this agreement with Hutcheson means a great step forward for us. We want to work with the best experts on each of the fields, and this is exactly what we achieve with this collaboration”.
In turn, Todd Knapton, Vice President of Business Development of Hutcheson Sand & Mixes, also celebrates this agreement: “It is with great pleasure that we begin this important relationship with Beach Soccer Worldwide and we look forward to provide a new platform for BSWW and FIFA Beach Soccer, adding a science element to beach soccer’s playing surfaces”.
Hutcheson Sand and Mixes is a company that has been involved in the industry for over 28 years and they have provided high end products for building, eco-friendly projects, golf courses, and sports and recreation, such as beach soccer.
As the leading expert in sand, Hutcheson was even called upon to consult on the fields in the European Games Baku 2015, the first ever European Olympic Games. The success of the event and the necessity for an ever changing but also level playing for the most exciting sport on sand, makes this agreement even more important.
