Besides the Copa Pilsener, a full slate of friendly matches are set for the end of March, with Brazil facing Japan, Switzerland taking on Poland and Morocco squaring off against Egypt
The beach soccer season is in full swing, with a lot of activity coming along these next days… and Beyond the Copa Pilsener in El Salvador, some friendly games and exhibitions will be spreading the Word these coming day. The Brazilians, Japanese, Moroccans, and Egyptians all have their sights set on a brilliant 2016 year. First, Morocco and the Pharaohs will play two friendlies, starting with one on March 22nd, and the final being set for the 24th of March in Casablanca, Morocco. Switzerland and Poland will take also advantage of these days to make the most of their preparation towards the European season, with two friendly games in Girona (Spain) on the 24th and 25th of March. With the proven knowledge that these training matches can help make or break a season, the South Americans from Brazil will face off on the 25th and 26th of March against the Nippon in Brazil.
Brazil and Japan are both teams that have conquered their regions, Brazil in CONMEBOL and Japan in the AFC, but it is the Brazilians with the distinct advantage in FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup tiles, with 5 compared to the 0 for Japan. However, Japan has made leaps and bounds with their National Selection and even two years they are a team to be feared in the World Cup. Morocco and Egypt are more than familiar foes as they both hail from the same Confederation, CAF, and have both been heavily invested in the sport of beach soccer. Egypt seemingly came out of nowhere in 2015 to burst onto the scene and eventually earned a silver medal at the Mediterranean Beach Games Pescara 2015 and a spot in the latest BSWW Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup Dubai 2015.
These coming weeks are also key for the European powerhouses. Switzerland and Poland, two of the Division A teams in the Old Continent, will square off in their training camp site in Giverola, in the Spanish resort of Costa Brava. Swiss and Polish will vie in two friendly games, happening on the 24th and 25th of March.
The exhibitions games will count towards the BSWW Overall World Ranking presented by Power Horse and apart from that, the four sides will get to gauge their talent against some stiff competition. It is no surprise that two of the four teams, Egypt and Japan, have been featured as the Mover of the Month in the World Ranking due to their jump in points and places thanks in part to their profound involvement in the sport. Also Brazil is the godfather of the sport and champion of multiple World Cups, so the importance of these types of matches should be lost as these teams have recognized what they mean.
